Dressing for Success
As we all know, not everything in life goes according to plan. Despite having feelings of hatred, self loathing and wanting to give up, this is not an acceptable reason to not put our best feet forward. For example, a woman who I shall not name, graduated from university with a master’s degree in political science in hopes of working in some government office. Unfortunately, this did not happen for her and now her primary source of income is tutoring her father’s students. Constantly I see her wearing bagging “mom” jeans, an oversized shirt you’d expect to see in a gym setting only, and tacking zip-up hoodies with logos such as “Apple Bottom Jeans” on the front. I don’t care how comfortable you may think you are, but sadly your poor choices in clothing reflect poorly on you. Your outfits scream “I don’t care about myself” so please for your own sake, as well as the sake of others visit your nearest Marshall’s and invest in the basics. I understand that currently there aren’t many career opportunities out there, but I promise that the way you present yourself towards others will open doors for you in the future.
